Thousands of Star Wars fans have joined forces to create a low-budget version of George Lucas’s classic film.

Star Wars Uncut has gone down a storm and has attracted more than 1.3 million hits since it was uploaded to YouTube a week ago.

It was the brainchild of film buff Casey Pugh who cut the film into 472 15-second segments and asked fans to record their own interpretations.

Although the clips had been available online previously, this is the first time they have been put together into a full-length film.

Star Wars Uncut: Director’s Cut is the end result and Mr Push is very proud of his creation.

He said: “I’m very excited and proud to release the entire film. Watch it for guaranteed LOLs and nostalgia.”

Mr Pugh’s efforts have already earned him a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Creative Achievement In Interactive Media.

The movie is an eclectic mix of live-action, animation and puppetry, featuring actors of all ages, and in some cases species.

A bewildering variety of household goods are enlisted as substitutes for the original film’s ground-breaking special effects and props.

Locations vary, with efforts to faithfully recreate the original sets sitting side-by-side with homes, suburban streets, bowling alleys and, in one case, a hot tub.

OFFICER-BREAST FLASHING BET

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — It’s a case of an officer-gone-wild. A former campus cop faces up to five years in prison, after getting two Central Michigan University coeds to flash their breasts. Now, Jeffrey Card has pleaded guilty to misconduct. Prosecutors charge he was on patrol when he gave the two women a ride in September from a bar. Authorities say he convinced the students to briefly flash, after making a bet concerning their blood alcohol level. A local paper (Morning Sun) reports Card was suspended and later quit the force.

LONDON 2012-BABIES

LONDON (AP) — No ticket — no baby. That’s the policy for the 2012 London Olympics. But organizers say they’ve been deluged with complaints from moms-to-be. Organizers have said that every child — including newborns — would need a full-priced ticket. Now, the London Organizing Committee says they’re taking another look at the baby question. Some of women who have protested say they’ll be breast-feeding and want to take their babies to Olympic venues.

BEACH HORSES

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) — Some officials in Ocean City want more horsing around on the beach — with real horses. Brent Ashley is a councilman in the Maryland resort city. He’s proposing that horseback riding on the beach be permitted during the offseason. He says it’s a way to increase tourism during the slow months. A local paper (Daily Times of Salisbury) reports the council is split on the issue. Council members will take it up again next month. Some critics worry about horse — you-know-what — on the beach. Riders would face a 500-buck fine for not cleaning up after the animals.

OLD PIG

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Pete the pig is gone — but a Louisville family wants his record to live on. Ed and Denise Stottmann claim their recently departed potbellied pig was the oldest ever. They tell a Kentucky paper (Courier-Journal) Pete was 21 years and 30 days old, when he passed on last week. The Stottmanns say their porker was 13 days older than the pig with the current Guinness record. They’re filing the paperwork with the Guinness people. The Stottmanns add they loved Pete and feel he deserves the honor.

BMW-HIDDEN CASH

NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) — It certainly was no factory option on one BMW. Federal officers in Arizona report finding more than a-half million bucks in cash hidden in the bimmer. The car was stopped at the border and searched. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers put the car on a lift and spotted a hidden compartment. Agents say the driver, a 58-year-old Phoenix man, was trying to take the cash into Mexico. The money was seized and the man busted.

MISSPELLED SCHOOL CROSSING

NEW YORK (AP) — Spelling counts — especially in a school zone. The word “school” is misspelled in front of a New York City high school. The New York Post reports that big white letters in front of the school on the Lower East Side say “S-H-C-O-O-L” crossing. But don’t blame the city. A spokesman for the Department of Transportation says the goof was made by a utility contractor after street repairs. He adds the mistake will be corrected.

A tire company says it’s new invention could put an end to frustrating slow punctures and dangerous high-speed blow-outs.

Bridgestone says its groundbreaking new prototype airless tirenever goes flat.

It is made of a recyclable plastic resin weaved into a mesh of spokes to support the tread of the tire.

The flexible design plays a key part in assuring the tire does not collapse – performing the function air pressure does in regular tires.

According to Bridgestone, the ‘non-pneumatic’ tire is at an early stage of development but should eventually be available in retail vehicles.

A Bridgestone spokesman said: “There is no need to periodically refill the tires with air, meaning they require less maintenance.

“At the same the worry of punctures is eliminated. Non-pneumatic tires have less impact on the environment than today’s conventional tires.

“The concept tire could prove to be a viable and more environmentally-friendly alternative to conventional tires in the future.”

Lisa Woodman, 28, who was told she was too old to go clubbing scantily clad, dressed up for photographer friend Paul Beard.

The medical secretary from Worcester admits she likes flaunting her size six figure and surgically enhanced 36DD boobs..

She volunteered to take part in the studio shoot after Mr Beard told her he needed someone to pose for him to build up his portfolio.

Mr Beard said: “I met Lisa on a social-networking site last year as this is where I advertise for most of my models.

“When I said I needed someone to dress up as a superhero she volunteered straight away.”
